Abstract

Since the results of the existing matchmaking methods for semantic Web service are more one-sided by only focusing on the matchmaking of inputs/outputs descriptions, a description logic based semantic Web service preconditions/effects matchmaking method is proposed. The knowledge base consistency checking function of description logic reasoning is used to determine the logical implication between preconditions/effects of service requests and advertising. A compatible matching degree is proposed to measure and to compare the pros and cons of the results of preconditions/effects matchmaking. Experimental results show that the proposed method has a higher recall rate with a considerable precision rate. In particular, better matching results are obtained when both the inputs/outputs matchmaking and the preconditions/effects matchmaking are combined.
