Abstract

A D-band circularly polarized (CP) monopulse antenna array with high polarization purity is proposed using micro-metal additive manufacturing (M-MAM) in this paper. Air-filled rectangular micro-coaxial lines (RMCLs) are employed to implement both the subarray feeding networks and the comparator network, forming a fully metallic and highly integrated monopulse architecture with inherently low loss. Four sequentially rotated 4 × 4 magnetoelectric (ME) dipole subarrays form the radiating aperture. Simulated results show that the array operates from 130 to 150 GHz with a peak realized gain of 23.8 dBic and an axial ratio (AR) below 0.4 dB, indicating excellent circular polarization performance. The proposed design enables a highly integrated monopulse architecture and provides a viable solution for D-band radar and high-resolution sensing applications.
