Abstract
A corrected numerical method based on SIMPLE is given to improve the computational accuracy of solving the convective-diffusion equation which can describe the incompressible fluid and heat transfer problems in this article. The drive flow and natural convection in a square cavity are analyzed using several numerical methods including the corrected method. And the drive flow results show that the corrected method has a better accuracy than other methods at the same grid classification though the computational efficiency is a little worse while the natural convection results shows that the corrected method has a better computational efficiency at the same accuracy. In conclusion, the corrected method has a better computational accuracy than SIMPLE using FUS, PLS or QUICK at the same grid classification and a better computational efficiency at the same accuracy.
