Abstract

This work proposes a new design of a multi-beam antenna based on a SIW integrated E-plane aperture horn. The antenna contains three parts, i.e., a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) feeding structure, a quasi-optical reflection system, and an E-plane radiated aperture. The antenna has been designed at 28GHz and manufactured by standard printed circuit board (PCB) fabrication technology. By employing the E-plane radiation aperture and the matching structure, the antenna achieves an endfire radiation. The simulated and measured results show that the antenna can operate in the frequency band from 27 GHz to 29 GHz with a gain more than 10dBi, and can cover the angle of ±33° in the H plane.
