Abstract

An optical receiver front-end circuit with low input noise for a 100GBaud optical link to support 100Gbps data rate on a single wavelength is reported. The optical receiver front-end is consisted of a transimpedance amplifier (TIA) , a main amplifier (MA) , and an improved output buffer (OB). The optical receiver front-end circuit is designed in 90nm SiGe BiCMOS process, and can realize 67GHz bandwidth. The input-referred noise density is 11.34pA/√Hz. The transimpedance gain is 63.4dBΩ, the maximum maximum input current is 500uApp and the maximum differential output swing is 350mVpp. The receiver front-end circuit consumes 130mW.
