Abstract

This paper presents a high-gain, broadband coaxially-excited dielectric resonator antenna. The resonator body comprises multiple alumina-air structural units, with the relative permittivity of each unit controlled by the volume fraction of air. Due to the structural complexity, alumina ceramic material was selected, and photopolymerization 3D printing technology was employed to fabricate the small-scale structural units of the dielectric resonator. The final design achieves a gain of 5.79 dBi at the resonant frequency of 6.16 GHz, with an operating bandwidth spanning 4.81 GHz to 7.79 GHz and a relative bandwidth of 48%. Within this operating band, the antenna maintains a realized gain exceeding 4 dBi and exhibits a total efficiency consistently above 85%.
