3-D nonlinear FEM analysis for whole process of concrete structures from crack to failure

Constitutive model has been established, in which the damage mechanics and failure criteria were described. Existing failure criteria, which do not take into account the effect of micro damage in materials was improved. The whole process of arch dam from crack to failure was computed by using the 3-D nonlinear FEM analysis. In comparison with that obtained from other software, the present results show that the proposed model is reasonable.
