Abstract

To reveal the distribution of oil and gas phases in the bearing chamber under high-speed operation conditions and improve the oil injection lubrication effect of high-speed bearings, in this paper, considering the revolution and rotation of the rolling element, the precise analysis model of oil-gas two-phase flow in bearing chamber was constructed by defining the rotating coordinate system to describe the motion relationship of each component of the bearing. On this basis, VOF method and the SIMPLE algorithm were used to solve the oil-gas flow in the bearing chamber, and the distribution of oil and gas phases in the bearing chamber was obtained. The macroscopic motion law of lubricant in bearing chamber under different working conditions was discussed. The lubrication performance of high-speed bearing under oil injection lubrication conditions was evaluated in terms of pressure distribution and lubrication medium distribution. The results show that the lubricating oil gradually shifts away from the nozzle, affected by the air flow inside the bearing; and the higher the running speed, the greater the offset. As a result, it is difficult for the lubricating oil to reach the contact area between the ball and the inner or outer ring directly at high speed. In addition, when the rotating speed increasing, the lubricating oil on the moving parts gradually decreases, which becomes the key factor to restrict the lubricating effect of oil injection.
