Abstract
A scheme to increase the flashover voltage of alumina ceramics by doping MgO and Ti02 was designed for insulating materials that were prone to surface flashover in high-voltage insulation systems. Through high temperature sintering, alumina ceramics doped with different content of Ti02 and MgO were prepared at 1 500 X,, and the effect of titanium-magnesium doping on the phase composition, section microstructure, dielectric constant, resistivity and surface flashover voltage of alumina ceramics were studied. The results show that the mixture of Ti02 and MgO reduce the sintering temperature of alumina ceramics, promote the uniformity of alumina ceramics grains, and increase the surface flashover voltage of alumina ceramics to some extent.
