Abstract
Aiming at floc densification formed by coagulation process in water treatment, the principles and strategies of pelleting coagulation were discussed, and two approaches of floc densification were proposed i.e., one-by-one attachment and mechanical syneresis. To achieve the removal and recovery of high-value metal ions, nucleation crystallization pelleting is proposed based on the principles of pelleting coagulation and chemical crystallization. The direct treatment of water from the Yellow River and the solid-liquid separation of drilling sludge from oil and gas fields were taken as examples to introduce the application of pelleting coagulation. In addition, the application of nucleation crystallization pelleting in industrial wastewater was introduced based on the examples of the hardness control in drilling wastewater from oil and gas fields, and the recovery of metal ions in wastewater from nonferrous smelting and new energy industries. The results provide a reliable technical idea for the efficient high-turbid water treatment and high-value metal ions recovery from highly concentrated brine.
