Abstract
The application of 3D printing technology in tissue engineering has become increasingly important. However, the use of polycaprolactone (PCL) in this field is limited due to its hydrophilicity and toughness constraints. Therefore, in this study, polysaccharides extracted from bamboo fungus were combined with PCL to prepare polysaccharide/PCL 3D printed scaffolds, aiming to improve their mechanical properties and enhance their biological performance for tissue engineering applications. The tensile test show that the toughness of PCL is significantly improved after the addition of polysaccharides, and the elastic modulus approaches that of bone tissue. The contact angle test indicates that the surface wettability is increased after polysaccharide addition, with the contact angle decreasing from 92° to 76° . In vitro cell culture validation demonstrates improved biocompatibility after polysaccharide addition. The experiments show that the modified scaffold with 1% polysaccharides exhibits optimal hydrophilicity, toughness, and biocompatibility, and can significantly enhanced the attachment of osteoblasts. This study provided an important foundation and guidance for further application of PCL in tissue engineering.
