Abstract

Integrated electricity and gas energy systems, the typical integrated energy systems(IES), are capable of handling the environmental concerns and the energy crises. However, the extreme events happening more and more frequently have brought challenges to the IES development. The traditional resilience researches focus mostly on the impacts of the natural disasters on the power systems and seldom consider the situations when the malicious man-made attacks and natural disasters happen simultaneously. The traditional researches on optimal placement are mainly based on the operating economy during a long period, but with little concern about the resilience of the placement. In order to improve the resilience of integrated energy systems in extreme events, this paper proposes a gas turbines and gas storages optimal placement method in the integrated electricity and natural gas energy system considering both the natural disasters and the man-made attacks. After the natural disaster scenarios are generated, a random defender-attacker-defender model is built. The improved nested column constraint generation algorithm (NCCG) and the progressive hedging algorithm (PHA) are adopted to solve the model. With the minimax-regret criterion, the optimal placement scheme is determined. Finally, the effectiveness of the presented method is demonstrated, and the system resilience level in different scenarios is analyzed.
