Abstract

Specialized sensors for electric power are a crucial foundational element for achieving observability, measurability, and controllability in digital power equipment. To achieve the construction goals of new power system, by using the driving policies for the development of digital and intelligent grids and the smart sensor industry, we analyzed the policy guidance for specialized power sensor technology in digital power equipment based on the operational characteristics of the power grid. The analysis focuses on the demands for sensor miniaturization, multi-parameter integrated sensing, the integration of primary and secondary technologies, reliability and environmental adaptability, and intelligence. Additionally, we introduced and evaluated the current situation and development trend of sensor industry by focusing on sensor sensitive elements, preparation technology, testing and calibration, communication net-working, and energy harvesting technology. Finally we analyzed the requirements for standardization in specialized intelligent power sensors and proposed the future developmental directions for specialized power sensor technology.
