Abstract

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is often associated with organ donation and renal transplantation, which leads to an increase of fatality rate, hospitalization time and hospitalization costs. In recent years, studies have shown that ferroptosis is closely related to AKI, but the exact molecular biological mechanism has not been clarified, which need more research. In this article, the role of ferroptosis in AKI was reviewed from the aspects of ferroptosis related biomarkers and biological reactions, in order to find a new possible direction for the prevention and treatment of AKI.
