Abstract

Promoting the use of carbon free fuel is an effective way to achieve the goal of "carbon peaking, carbon neutrality". As a carbon free fuel, ammonia gas has advantages such as perfect infrastructure and high safety. Numerical simulation plays an important role in the design and development of gas turbines, and the adaptability of combustion models to the calculation object is important, affecting the calculation accuracy and calculation efficiency. Aimed at the ammonia swirling flame, the standardization experiment and simulation of ammonia swirling flame were carried out based on the open source platform OpenFOAM. The performances of FGM combustion model and DTF combustion model in the flow field, flame structure and pollutant prediction were compared. Finally, through the comprehensive analysis, the suggestions for model selection are given, providing reference for the simulation and calculation of ammonia-fueled engine combustors and ammonia-fueled burners.
