Abstract

Shared motorcycles have been widely considered to be effective in achieving green low - carbon and energy - saving emission reduction. From a life - cycle perspective, shared motorcycles involve material energy consumption and waste emissions at the stages of production, use, maintenance and disposal, and there is an urgent need to discuss whether shared motorcycles are truly green. This study builds a life cycle greenhouse gas (GHG) emission assessment model for shared motorcycles, conducts a quantitative assessment on the GHG emissions of shared motorcycles at each stage of the life cycle, and explores the main parameters and key variables that affect the life cycle GHG emissions of shared motorcycles. Then, the net GHG emissions and net zero emission thresholds in the life cycle of shared motorcycles are obtained, and a reasonable forecast is made for the contribution of GHG emission reduction of shared motorcycles in China. Finally, countermeasures and suggestions for realizing the green and sustainable development of shared motorcycles are put forward.
