Abstract
The pressure oscillation characteristics of n-butyl ether were studied in the conditions of 0.05−0.20 MPa, 423−453 K, and 0.7−1.6 equivalence ratio based on the constant volume combustion bomb experimental platform, and the experimental data of combustion pressure, flame pattern, noise, and combustion bomb vibration were obtained and analyzed. The results show that the strongest pressure oscillation of n-butyl ether is generated at lower temperature and higher pressure with the equivalent ratio around 1.5, and the signals of pressure, vibration, noise and brightness in the combustion process have the same change pattern, which shows the trend of slight decrease with the increase of temperature, significant increase with the increase of pressure, and first increasing and then decreasing with the increase of equivalent ratio. Main frequency of oscillation moves toward high frequency as the intensity of pressure oscillation increases. There exists a relationship between the flame instability of n-butyl ether and the generation of pressure oscillation.
