Abstract

A conical spiral tube cavity receiver is presented, and the thermal performance of receiver was numerically calculated with a combined computational model. The heat loss and the thermal efficiency of the receiver were obtained, Compared with the Molten-Salt Subsystem by Sandia National Laboratories, the spiral tube cavity receiver can reduce the wall temperature and increase the efficiency of the receiver under the same size of aperture, the same length of tubes, and the same incident solar flux on the aperture.
