Abstract

Tostudytheeffectofoilinjectionparametersontheperformanceofthetwin-screwair compressorsandtoprovideareferenceforoptimizingandimprovingtheoverallperformanceof suchaircompressor a mathematicalmodeloftheoil-injectedtwin-screw aircompressor was developedtostudytheeffectofoilinjectionvolumeandoilinjectiontemperatureontheperformanceof theaircompressorandtheaccuracyofthemodelwasverifiedbycomparingthesimulationresults withtheexperimentalresults.Theresultsshowthat thereisanoptimaloilinjectionvolumefor atwin-screwaircompressortoachievethebestadiabaticefficiencyandspecificpower andsuch volumedecreasesasthespeedincreases(from3000r·min-1to4400r·min-1)andincreases withthebackpressure (from0.7MPato1.0MPa).Inaddition theincreaseofoilinjection temperaturemakestheadiabaticefficiencyofthecompressordecreaseandthespecificpower increase whichleadstothedeteriorationofthecompressorperformance.Thus theoilinjection temperatureshouldbeaslowaspossiblewhileensuringtheexhausttemperature.Atthesame time thereisasignificanteffectofinjectionparametersonleakageandpowerconsumption.In particular withtheincreaseoftheinjectiontemperature(from303.15Kto323.15K),theleakageof eachleakagechannelshowsaincreasingtrend andthefrictionlossshowsadecreasingtrend whilewiththeincreaseofinjectionvolume (from0.5mh-1to1.5mh-1)theleakage showsadecreasingtrend andthefrictionlossshowsarisingtrend.Thisresearchprovidesauseful referenceforoptimizingtheperformanceoftheoil-injectedtwin-screwcompressors.
