Abstract
The controllable current source converter (CSC) can is considered to be an effective solution for solving the commutation failure. Stress analysis is the theoretical basis of converter valve electrical parameters and experimental system design, and its related research is still need to be developed. Based on the operation principle and modulation method, the stress characteristics of the whole and key components during the active commutation and forced commutation are analyzed in this paper. The simulation model of reverse blocking integrated gate commutated thyristor (RB-IGCT) for CSC is established, and the accurate parameters of the simulation model is verified according to the experimental results. Finally, the simulation model of the device is applied to the 250kV/3kA simulation system to verify the stress characteristics of the theoretical analysis, which provides a foundation for the electrical design and equivalent experiment of CSC.
