Abstract
Enhancing viral reproduction can help with rapid production of vaccines against viral diseases. It has been proven that cold atmospheric plasma(CAP)can effectively enhance the spread of viruses. Here, Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis Virus(IBRV)and Madin - Darby bovine kidney cells(MDBK)were used as the virus and cell line in a model to determine the effects of CAP treatment. CAP was shown to have a synergistic effect with the viral infection. It could prevent host cells from dividing and proliferating in the G2/M phase, reduce the cell membrane potential, increase intracellular Ca2+ levels, and induce selective autophagy. In addition, by detecting the expression of immune - related proteins, CAP was shown to inhibit virus - triggered immunogenic signaling. In summary, we show that CAP triggers the maximization of host resources for viral reproduction, which is beneficial in the production of vaccines against viruses and in medicine.
